Cob Style Cottage – UNDER CONSTRUCTION
New build thatched New Forest Cob Style Cottage –
May is a busy month for us here at Tom Whiteley Bespoke Homes, along with our Lime Tree House build we are excited to have another big project about to go under construction. Work has begun to demolish the existing property and start rebuilding in its place a lovely New Forest 4 bed cottage set in the most gorgeous garden. Tom Whiteley will bring all our specialist know-how and intrinsic bespoke detailing to build this lovely family home for our clients. The house will be every inch the traditional cottage complete with old oak beams and finished off with one of our beautiful, eco-friendly water reed thatched roofs. Our build will make the most of locally sourced materials including reclaimed bricks and casement windows all set in a very traditional New Forest Cobb style which will give the whole build a very cottagey feel.
June, and the build is going really, really well. The Team have been toiling away outside, roasting in the Mediterranean conditions that everyone is basking in at the moment but this is not getting in the way of any hard work, the build itself is shaping up beautifully.
The foundations have been dug, poured and completed and the substructure block work was all laid by the end of last week. This week has been all about laying the beam and block structure which we are pleased to say is also now complete. The next phase is to get the internal drainage systems set out and placed and then we can start thinking vertically.
